#12016-05-18 08:51This small unappreciated and unused area has been transformed and has brought great enjoyment to the majority of the community. Think again Edinburgh Council! |

#22016-05-18 11:53An interim extention of time has been allowed for further discussion on this matter by City of Edinburgh Council.....were not there yet! Please fully support this essential area, to allow all our communities to flourish without fear but with freedom.

#52016-05-18 22:08I wish you every success! This is a real no brainer but the insurance & lawyer men have Edinburgh council by the 'goolies' |

#62016-05-19 12:21It's peculiar the priorities the council have - they happily ignore the state of the hard landscaping and surfacing in our school playground while they give you a hard time for a swing, bench and some insect houses etc. My point being although the school playground is more likely to injure the children they don't act to remedy the problem as they're insured. |

#72016-05-19 17:53My granddaughter literally comes alive when using the Community Garden. Everyone knows the benefits re health, education and happiness in having such a wonderful place for children (resultant in them turning into well balanced adults). I also believe the elderly love the garden too. It is in every sense a wonderful Community Garden. |

#82016-05-19 20:40Children need the freedom to play in areas that their parents have decided are safe. |

#102016-05-19 20:57I'm part of a community garden project in London and can't imagine how they're coping with the prospect of loosing this space |

#112016-05-20 07:45Green spaces that can be enjoyed by all are so important in city environments |

#122016-05-20 21:42Please don't take all the play equipment away because we like playing there and the play equipment is the normal stuff in gardens. We like being able to meet all our friends there and it is a place to play and without the play equipment we would have nothing to play with. From Laila Nicola and Ben ! |

#132016-05-21 11:52could you say where the community garden is actually sited? (oh...and it should read "our Community Garden - citing the use of such items are not covered liably") |

#162016-05-22 12:33I do not feel Edinburgh Council should have the right to take away items which give pleasure to the local children. The residents are aware that if any child is hurt, it is not the fault of the council. |

#172016-05-23 08:21The people have made this empty space a wonderful safe area where they can watch their children play safely and older folks can have a blether on the benches. How can that be wrong? Would glue/beer cans, syringes and graffiti be preferable? Let the people take pride in and enjoy their amenity space. Common sense surely must prevail. |

#18 Re:2016-05-23 14:37In the interest of keeping good relations and despite our bug hotel being present for over a year (in the top corner of picture), it would seem concern has been brought to our attention that this may cause wall damage to neighbouring property. As this is entirely biodegradable material I'm fairly certain this would not cause wall damage and is environmentally friendly not to mention very educational, however as long as nothing is hibernating in this habitat I'm sure it can be moved without too much bother and is not an entirely unreasonable request.

#19 Re: Re:2016-05-24 16:16Update : talks appear to have shifted somewhat from a council threat regarding liability, to one or two general complaints that this area is being used by children to exercise their Right to Play! The definition of "amenity space" clearly states playarea. Even if we are disputing the space as a 'community garden' children do have this right regardless. |

#232016-06-07 06:44Play is an important part of learning and developing. Outside play spaces give ample opportunity for socialising. These spaces are needed. Why take away an area children enjoy and are familiar with ?. |
