I agree that Haraam is Haraam period.

However many Ulema are of the opinion that a TV channel dedicated to Dawah and which ensures strict compliance of the Shariah ( like prohibition of music, no women etc etc ) can be allowed subject to certain strict conditions. They do not say that it is Haraam period. They say it can be allowed subject to certain strict conditions. There is a big difference. I am sure you are aware of the ulema who hold this vie

If you dont like iTV. Dont watch it. There is no compulsion in religion or even your choice of TV channels. Once you have a TV in your home you already have a "Haraam" object.

Is it really better to watch other channels than ITV once you already have a TV?

It does not mean that other channels on tv are permissible. this forum highlights the fact that by Ulema-e-soo going onto tv, it does not give it Islamic legality.An action of an Aalim is not hujjate shari'yyah.If you see an Aalim in the pub, are you going to say we all must start boozing because Molwi shaytaan was at the bar and he came out drunk and had a woman around his arms, so we all can do it. IN saudi you find that drink called baveria or something which is alcohol but states on the bottle non-alcohol.

these things are materialization of the Ahaadeeth. Liquor will be consumed but given another name.

Just like radio islaam. ITV will start off pious, all the while promising to get better and correct the wrongs but it will never happen. It will only get worse and worse all the time.... Until nobody even acknowledges its wrong. I dont understand why people choose to be blind and hand over their imaan to ulama who are incable of looking after their own.

But ITV is not even starting off pious!!! At least with radio islaam they had a little decency initially. It was only old woman with not-so-nice voices for just a few minutes daily and stuff.... Itv didnt even do that much. From the beginning they got beautiful women, intermingling, music and everything!

TV was and always will be Haraam. Those Ulama who Halaalize TV, should bring forth a clear cut Shar'i Daleel (proof). Remember, numbers don't count. Even if the grand Mufti of the world declares TV to be Halaal, it will still remain Haraam. Even if the entire Fiqh Academy declares TV to be Jaiz at the time of Zaroorat (need), that doesn't Halaalize TV. The majority people in the world are non-Muslims, does it mean that Islam (Na'uthu-billaah) is false? NUMBERS DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING!

Moulana, the other night on Islamic TV there was a program called MUSLIMS GOT TALENT. This show had men and ladies all seated mixed in the all. (Not half and half, but all were MIXED SEATED on fancy laid tables)
Moulana this program was almost identical to the world wide craze of the IDOL SHOW. All do their bit, and the judges chose the finalist OF THE YEAR.
Moulana the judges were seated in the front row of the stage. They were mixed men and lady judges. The BEST PART, QARIE BASHEER PATEL was also one of the judges in the hall. SMILING away for the camera that was being broadcast 200 million viewers. the sad part was, when a pretty women in close proximity of qarie saab interview him. HE WAS FULL OF SMILES AND EVEN PROMISED BETTER talent next year round.ASTGFIRULLAH!WHAT MORE EVIL ITV AND ULAMA-E-SOO..!!
