#1262014-02-11 12:07with the extra traffic and parking involved a school this size is not necessary for this small village with continuous through traffic. |

#130 Re:2014-02-11 16:11You are correct , one shouldn't build on flood planes or green belt. The proposed site for Tunstall school is neither! Check your facts!!! |

#131 Re:2014-02-11 16:14Sadly the field behind the existing school can't be used as is not owned by KCC. There was enough trouble getting the new village hall built. Especially with all the restrictions put in place by the small minded village hall committee. |

#132 Re:2014-02-11 16:17Check your facts! The proposed site is owned by KCC and was ear marked as development land years ago. It is only leased out as agricultural land. |

#136 Re:2014-02-11 17:27Exactly, at last someone has stopped shouting and sneering, and is listening, this would solve the problem, and would retain the school and it's ethos and undoubted excellence (which nobody of any persuasion has ever doubted ). Incidentally the school only finds itself oversubscribed in it's present form, because of poor governance. Let the undoubtedly great teachers teach and inspire, and find governors who can govern, no matter what it's financial costs. Most of us are parents and granparents and have been upset at being called child haters, you don't have a monopoly on love for your families. With regard to the previous four posts they are merely sneering at almost historic posts in the way this has moved on. |

#1372014-02-11 17:54As the schoolies are keen to post ,GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT ,and then go on to perpetuate half truths and lies, lets get the facts right here and now. FACT 1-the school will NOT be closed in 2015, without adequate places being provided (it is K.C.C,s legal duty to provide places).FACT 2- K.E.C. has approved plans to forward to K.C.C. PLANNING to build a large two storey building in a field in Tunstall. FACT 3- This building will have it's entry and exit on a country road with poor sightlines and lacking proper pavements, also with congestion problems( only to be exacerbated ). THIS IS WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW AND THIS IS WHAT THE DECISIONS WILL BE BASED ON.( Sleep tight peeps ,I mean that sincerely). We all want what's best for everyone!. |

#139 addendum to 1372014-02-11 18:15Incidentally I am willing to take a large wager, odds to be decided by timescale, that housing will at some time be approved in the relatively near future. HOWEVER, that is for the future. In the meantime take some hard earned wisdom from a hard bitten old dog. NEVER trust that virtuous triumvirate-politicians-bankers and planners. Bet princey won't take me up on that bet!!!!!. |

#140 Re: Re:2014-02-11 18:16After hearing one of the Governors last night and his disgusting atitude to all, it is sad that he is allowed to hold such a position in life. By the way Mr Governor the plans are dreadful and do not represent the area, the building looks dreadful with its dark and dismal colour scheme, with a few panels of colour. In no way does this represent a village or Hamlet that has been here for centuries. Start to talk to the local people and you might have a better respone. By the way TODAY i have recieved the first and only notification from KCC that this plan has been put forward. Thats democracy for you. Off now to skip through some daisy fields with my kite!!!!!! |

#1452014-02-11 18:58Hi all, a couple of direct quotes from the Transport Statement in the planning application: “In summary, by looking at the effects of the additional traffic that would be generated by the school proposals upon the Tunstall Road / Woodstock Road junction under a number of scenarios, the impact is considered negligible.” “the car park area for parent use will be able to accommodate for the amount required without necessitating the use of Cranbrook Drive as an informal “park and stride” facility which could cause parking issues for local residents.” Says it all really…….. |

#148 tunstall school2014-02-11 19:20The whole idea of such a large school in Tunstall is abhorrent to most right thinking people. There is no way around The infrastructure problems. |

#1492014-02-11 19:22To say that the traffic impact will be negligible is a criminal statement. Are they out of their tiny minds? |
