To the directors of NCA this ridiculous picking on hard working, dedicated members of our community. Forget about the parking how about investing in public transport to get the people that dont really need a car off the road. Parking problem solved.

It would be a shame to shut down such an iconic place for a parking lot. As a business owner myself I sympathise how hard it is to keep people coming back. To take a successful business like this is a real tragedy .

To me it seems this is ACT revenue raising & nothing more. They just keep removing more of Canberra's soul, no wonder the rest of Aust think its a boring place.... Find them a new home- just like Brodburger and let the tradition continue

I am a long serving public servant who enjoys the odd chips and gravy for lunch (when I get the chance to leave the office for lunch) and there is no other place to go then GABBYS!! I've been eating at this fine establishment for over 20 years!! I will add that I am not yet in my 30s it's a spot that my mum took me too in her lunch breaks and I have taken my daughter to! Long live GABBYS!

It's just like the ACT government again making stupid decisions without public consultation. What is wrong with having increased competition of food outlets in Barton. Shutting down one business ends up putting the other few in the area a lot more busy around lunchtime. Gabbies has always provided great food and I have not heard of one instance of anybody becoming sick (like some moron suggested on the Canberra times article response). Get with it ACT how about doing something better for small ACT business's.

Great food outlet and quality is fantastic, always seek out Gaby's on my trips to Canberra. Pretty awful to issue a closure at such short notice without considering the financial impact to the business owner and not giving them a chance to investigate other sites and provide some sort of assistance to help them relocate.
Best of luck to the Gaby's crew.
