/ #85 Propagating the use of FSL

2012-10-31 10:25

What I wish for the Deaf is proficiency, not just in FSL, but in other sign as well as written languages. To be able to sign in FSL, following the syntax they have learned in FSL, but also the syntax in written English (or Tagalog), when they write in these languages. Why limit the Deaf to only one kind of language?

What I would also like to see is the production of educational materials for the easy propagation of FSL. In the States, or online, there are many books and videos to help parents teach even very young children ASL, but I can't seem to find any materials to help me learn FSL. Those who are promoting the adoption of FSL as the national sign language should work hard at producing these instructional or learning materials, so that they can be accessible to anyone who wants or needs to learn FSL.
