He was one of my teachers when I went school. Amazing man, amazing teacher, wrongly punished over another mans tantrum!

I am signing because Mr Mountford does not deserve this treatment, he is a great teacher and a credit to Haywood Academy, he taught my design and technology from 2007/2012 he is always up for a laugh and a joke and would never harm anybody.

(Newcastle-Under-Lyme, 2017-04-25)

#15

He was a great teacher

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-25)

#16

I worked with Matt during my teacher training and he was an inspiration how he taught and was loved by students and colleagues alike. This outcome is ridiculous and insulting to a great teacher.

(Stoke in trent, 2017-04-25)

#18

Mr. Mountford was an amazing teacher and doesn't deserve this treatment

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-25)

#22

I'm signing because I know what it's like to be forced out of a job through false accusations. It's a potential to ruin lives and it is ridiculously unfair

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-25)

#23

I'm signing because Mr Mountford is one of the best teacher at Haywood!!!!!!! Such a wrong choice

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-25)

#26

Things like this just aren't meant to happen in the 21st century. Such a huge loss to the teaching profession. How can someone work in a school all this time and not be supported. I am sure bigger and better things are round the corner for Matthew and his family.

(Staffordshire, 2017-04-25)

I have been a pupil at the school going back 5 years ago and Mr Mountford was one of the best teachers the school had. Always passion about his job of helping and teaching the pupils within class.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-25)

#58

I'm signing because mr mountford does not deserve what has happened he was an amazing teacher always cared about his pupils and their wellbeing also their education he would never bring harm to any pupil and I find this personally ridiculous all I think is what a lovely man he was and how much he helped me through school one of my favourite teachers and for this to happen to him makes me feel so sorry for him because he's been punished for being a very passionate teacher the pupils farther had a problem with the school and for him to go this far is terrible I hope they bring mr mountford back it would be very well deserved

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-25)

He needs his Job back and the treatment he's getting is not fair or justifiable.

(Stoke, 2017-04-25)

#68

He was & still is an amazing teacher. He definitely doesn't deserve this treatment!

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-25)

#73

Mr Mountford doesn't deserve this, he was a great teacher, always helped people with their work. He was more like a friend than a teacher, it shouldn't happen to any such person, it is ridiculous!

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-25)

#78

he has taught me and was an amazing teacher

(stoke on trent, 2017-04-25)

#81

I am signing his due to the fact I know from personal experience this man is one of the best teachers Haywood has ever had.

I have also witnessed his control, classroom management skills and skills with difficult students... all of which are perfectly perfect! This could never hurt someone.

This student has managed to destroy his career, any future careers working with under 18's and his reputation.

I wish him the best of luck and he has my support all the way through.

(Stoke- on- Trent, 2017-04-25)

#82

Because he was the best teacher ever

(stoke-on-trent, 2017-04-25)

(Stoke On Trent, 2017-04-25)

#87

Mr Mountford was one of the best and most loving teachers throughout the school and was always there for me when I needed help with any of my work and this should never have happened to him

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-25)

#88

He doesn't deserve to loose his job! He's one of the most down to earth teachers I've ever met! Never would he ever intentionally hurt a child!

(Staffordshire, 2017-04-25)

#90

I'm signing so that Mr. Mountford's position at haywood academy is re-evaluated, as he does not deserve to lose his job because the school cares about nothing more about it's reputation!

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-25)

#106

I'm signing because he was a great teacher and never wanted to hurt any student, he was always caring and loved his job, I don't think he would do such a thing to harm a student!

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-25)

#107

Mr Mountford is a brilliant teacher and shouldn't be pilloried over one mistake

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-26)

#110

I'm signing because he taught me as cover twice and both of the times I had him he knew what he was doing. He'd control the behaviour of the class and would still make the lesson fun and interesting. He doesn't deserve what has happened to him.

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-26)

#113

A hard working teacher who cares about his students future and will correct and learn them well

(Stoke-on-Trent, 2017-04-26)

#115

Mr Mountford is a brilliant man, a breath of fresh air to teaching. I'm not convinced it's about what he did or didn't do, this is bad blood between the father and the school, it isn't the first time there's been issues but in this attempt, he's ruined, what many others will agree, a great mans career.

(Stoke On Trent, 2017-04-26)

#118

Idiot parents are worse that idiot children

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-26)

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#141

Yes he would shout if a pupil was being disruptive but nothing more, he was an amazing teacher and didn't deserve this at all! #170

Mr mountford was such a nice guy. He wouldn't hurt anyone!

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)

#172

He does not deserve to be sacked for this incident. There was no malice intended and the pupil came to no harm at all. What message does this send to other unruly pupils.

(Stoke on Trent, 2017-04-26)

#175

I am signing because I think the treatment that teachers receive off both students and their colleagues is appalling. I have done work experience at the school and I have witnessed just how horrible students are to teachers. Today's society have no respect for their elders and it's appalling! What happened to respect in Britain, it is wasn't like this when our parents were at school if the dared to be as rude as today's students they would have been caned, and taught respect.

(Stoke on trent, 2017-04-26)
