I am signing this petition for three reasons. A lifetime tag should reduce the cost of producing tags, reduce plastic waste and, should an owner choose to add an engraved contact number to the tag, greatly increase the number of straying dogs which can be returned directly to the owner without the intermediate step of being impounded.Yvonne Joass (Auckland, 2021-08-02)

I believe that metal tags are far better for the environment than using plastic ones issued every year. The manufacture and processing to post these out will no.longer be necessary cutting down on workload and postage.Stephanie Watson (Auckland, 2021-08-02)

I'm signing because I am a young adult immigrant from South Africa who just adopted my first dog in New Zealand. I am passionate about protecting and preserving the beautiful natural country that New Zealand is and with our access to resources and finances we most definitely have the ability to make small changes to prevent New Zealand becoming as wasteful as my home country. Lets save our landscapes and wildlife!!Amelia Labuschagne (Auckland, 2021-08-05)
