He's a valuable local trader for people like me that don't want a sit down dinner on their own, we aren't all couples / families, and those planters should be removed to give proper space for his vanMark CHATER (Alveston, 2022-02-01)

The gentleman running this van has been part of the community for years ..he works hard and is polite and always happy.. he is not the cause of the antisocial behaviour the people doing it are to blame ...as for the plant holders they need to be removed for causing offence to the already sad High street.. they are so ugly.Julie ALLEN (Bristol, 2022-02-01)

He deserves the right to trade on high street as he has done for all these years. Thornbury wouldn’t be the same without him. No wonder the town is going to pot. Who makes these ridiculous decisions?😡David Boulter (Bristol, 2022-02-01)

As a long standing Thornbury resident I feel very upset to hear of the news that the dear kebab man has had his license revoked and is now not allowed go operate! That was his livelihood! He has been there as long as I can remember and has always been a positive as far as I’m concerned. This is an unfair decision and will be a detriment to the residents who have enjoyed visiting himOn weekends and evenings after enjoying a drink. Another reason in my view not to bother visiting the High street. The Council should be ashamed of themselves.

He has been there a long time, so many high streets keep allowing chain fast food groups and again pushing out the individuals making a livelihood. The food is a high standard and it is wanted.Michelle Pibworth (Bristol, 2022-02-02)

Burror has been a part Thornbury for decades. The anti-social behaviour is happening every where in the area, so should t be attributed just to the kebab van.Nicola Thomas (Bristol, 2022-02-02)

Marut who works in the High Street deserves to keep his livelihood and get his licence back and he is a lovely honest kind hard working man earning an honest living for himself and his family. We have all accidentally reversed into things in the past and no damage done at all and even if there was it is an honest very very minor accident and would have caused more damage to his van than the planter.Alice Taylor (Bristol, 2022-02-02)

Always found him to be a most pleasant and helpful person. If the reasons for his license being revoked are true then perhaps some action needs to be taken against the pubs & hotels that sell the alcohol and against every other vehicle that has hit a bollard!

You don’t close a pub due to unsociable behaviour but most of the kebab man’s customers have come from there. As for the plastic tubs, nobody wanted them in the first place! The council fly tipped them onto the High Street. Sue them!Gail Chaplain (Bristol, 2022-02-02)

Stop making this man who is trying to earn an honest living a scapegoat for stupid drunks behaving badly. You wouldn't revoke the pubs' licences for their antisocial behaviours, so why pick on the kebab van owner?Fiona Gayther (Thornbury, 2022-02-02)
