Traffic lights between Barton Road & the A580 Lancaster Road

I have driven buses in and out of this junction for years, really dangerous junction, albeit a gap does come quite often but many drivers drive too fast towards Lancaster Rd hoping to make those lights!
I did think to myself many years ago that the junction needed lights, accident waiting to happen!

This could have been any one of us! Absolutely heartbreaking! Salford council you get enough of us in taxes, instead of wasting it on pink lids for bins, spend it on something absolutely vital to saving lives! Like this! Most drivers agree that the time has come for this road to be looked at properly and better safety measures put in place, to keep us and our families safe!! Do the right thing!!!

Dropping the speed limit on the A580 does not seem to have worked in this case.  It is also difficult to judge speeds on the Lancs too. Such a shame, there is far too much speeding going on everywhere.  Condolences to all concerned.

My nephew has also been injured by a speeding driver in Middleton 4 weeks ago luckily for us he was in critical unit still wee nearly lost him, no more accidents,racing please

am thinking more speed camaras and also cctv camaras god for bid we dont want anymore kind of tragic accedents like this we dont want any more innocent lives to be lost due to stupied risk taking drivers

Needs traffic lights and speed cameras but it won't happen as money comes in the way with the fat councils

Now living in Spain but as a retired ambulance officer and initially based at Swinton Ambulance Station I support this campaign if it saves one life it is a very worthy cause. My sincere condolences to both families.

R.I.P Amy and Aaron such sad sad news my thoughts are with your family and friends, something seriously needs doing on this road it is so dangerous! Lets get them lights up even if they save just 1 life they are worth it so no one else has to suffer the tragic loss of a loved one on that road ever again xx

How many more needless deaths, bereavement and torment before something is done? Do it now and prevent it happening again because there will be a next time if nothing is done :(X  Thoughts with the families of Aaron and Amy such a tragic waste of two young lives so so sad :(X
