A few weeks ago previous to the tragic accident . I turned into the east lances rd . A car sped past me at an excessive speed . I slowed down as the lights at Lancaster road turned amber to red. The car went straight through the red light with no intention of stopping he must have been doing 70 miles per hour . The 40 limit is NOT enforced on this stretch of road . It is a complete Death Trap . Pedestrians need to run across risking falling to get to the other side .

I live just off Barton Road and saw the aftermath of this terrible incident, my thoughts and condolences are with the families of Aaron and Amy. I often see near misses and cars driving at crazy speeds, so fully support this petition.

Traffic lights at this junction has been needed for years,and it is so sad that two young lives have been so tragically and needlessly been cut short when the powers that be could ,and should have done it instead of creating chaos by putting in a BUS LANE.. They will probably blame the governments wicked cuts like they usually do. Don't let these tragic deaths be ignored and please give the devastated families some hope that their loved ones have not lost their lives in vain.
