#32015-12-17 13:16Salaries and working conditions for social workers is a disgrace. No social work breadwinner can take care of a family on the salaries we get. Social workers with years of service should also be allocated masters and doctorate certificates. Not all social workers are academics. Some are good in practise but get no acknowledgement for it. |

#42015-12-17 13:22Social work is regarded as a scarce and crtical skill, but social workers are not taken into serious consideration. First they are underpaid at entry level post and those who work for NGO IS WORSE. social workers working condition at dsd is very poor. Governent is funding social workers and fail to absorb its material and this lead to many social workers being unemployed |

#52015-12-17 13:46It's time for social workers to stand up and fight for their rights we have been unhappy for far too long. It's very disappointing to go to the university for four years come back and earn a salary of a cleaner or a driver, forward with a struggle. |

#92015-12-17 14:32Our profession has been undermined for so long with such pathetic salaries. We are a laughing stock amongst other professions yet we are told we are part of scarce skills in SA. Our services are continously required by the communities that we live in. Government has to restore the dignity this profession trully deserves |

#102015-12-17 14:46Poor salary. Not even earning R14 000 and I am.almost 60 years old!! |

#112015-12-17 14:48I may not agree with all points, but definitely w.r.t. the increase in salaries. I am one of the social workers in private practice, who could not afford to pay for CPD this year. |

#162015-12-17 18:10Because I care about the future and health of social workers across South Africa including myself. |
Guest |
#182015-12-17 18:48I signed it because I believe that the Government has to do serious changes in the Social Work Profession Policies to ensure that it receives the respect it deserves as a decent profession and one of the most critical profession in a developing country like South Africa. |
Guest |
#192015-12-17 18:48Because I want the Social Work profession should have dignity and recognition by all and sundry. |

#212015-12-17 19:48To ensure that social work proffetion is respected and not being taken for granted. To ensure that the salary is fair and social workers being protected |

#222015-12-17 21:03As a Social worker I feel that our proffession is undermined hence the low salary scales We do not get recognition like other proffessionals yet we also studied for four years. When it comes to service delivery it is expected of us to perform but in terms of compensation we earn less than administrative personnel who is not even in possession of a qualification |

#232015-12-17 21:10Social work profession is undermined and underrated, levels of unemployment are escalating in an inexplicably manner whilst the profession is still considered as a scarce skill in South Africa. |
Guest |
#242015-12-18 02:55Because I am also concern as a student social worker about our future as this profession is not taken seriously and yet we are able to change many people's lives but ours can't be changed...it's awful.. |
