I signed this petition because I recognise that if the concept of the Drum is allowed to die then everything that I have worked for over the past thirty-five years will, in fact, die with it. However, I believe that the Drum needs s radical change in its approach to creating and delivering a quality and effective programme of arts and culture.

I really believe the drum is needed in the community for young people's to go . My daughter goes to drama and have been apart of YGB . She will be lost when it closes. It is a value part of the community and I pray funding comes from somewhere.

The arts are incredibly important and I think making cuts to them is unnecessary when we could cut down on non-essential spending elsewhere.

Visited the drum for a comedy event. Such a wonderful community place that does so much good within the community and welcoming people from outside the local area.

 I once drove from Cheltenham to The Drum on a Sunday lunchtime to listen to the late Andy Hamilton, great venue great food and wonderfull music

The drum has been a very well known venue for events and has helped many young people such as myself to develop confidence in many key areas in my life. Their friendliness and approachability makes them stand out from all the other places that I have come across.

I wish the drum and its owners could stay around for a bit longer and that a bit more money was invested into it, with my involvement I believe the drum has the potential to become a really successful organisation.

The Drum was born out of the vision of ethnic minorities and the well needed City Challenge funding designed to support urban priority areas. I know, I was there at the beginning. Aston and Newtown may never survive the loss!

Because I would not like to see yet another black cultural centre disappear. Why? Why can't we get funding when we have excellent projects and when our community needs it in order to prevent idleness for our young people and crime? We have so much to talent to show and so much knowledge to share. This is absolutely sad and close to disgusting.

If we don't stand up for what we deem is black art then who will? I believe it is a disservice to all of us, and our culture by those of us within the diaspora that have the industry insight, money, time and talent to donate to, and sponsor black art, and do not, need to look at what they're really about!

I have been to the Drum to a number of excellent events over the years. I feel that there are Some community facilities that should continue to be funded regardless of cost because of the greater good. The Drum is one of a number of such facilities.
