My daughter is at NMMU and we have paid for this service - quite frankly - there is a contractual obligation for the university to perform - I have no problem with peaceful protesting and their cause - but my daughter also has rights

Because it is undemocratic not to ensure students have a safe environment to receive education that is been payed for. If they can't guarantee this then they must refund the affected students for breech of agreement.

if you guys actually did something rather than sign stupid petentions then maybe you'd be taken seriously. im sure you guys think that we are striking just cause we dont want to graduate. the fact is that society always sees the negative in things black people want to achieve. And by society i mean us white people. Dont make the same mistake white people that premoted the oppression of people of colour pre1994. cause what you are doing now is the same as they did then. and we all know that the struggle won then and i shall win again, this time the struggle of the student

To be disrupted in my last few months of my final year of my Bcom degree is stressful to say the least.
I plan on finishing my degree this year to proceed on to 2017 plans, ultimately we need to get back to lectures and tests etc for that to happen.

Our son is a student here and already missed 3 semester tests. He is a final year student and this could cost him one year of his life. We also battle like hell to pay the fees but our son do not burn the university. PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

I feel that the rule of law is not being applied here. Students wanting to study cannot be prevented from doing so by fellow students who are out of control at the moment.

The striking is unfair to students who wish to continue studying.

Everyone striking is simply too lazy to work, as thousands of students has to work part time jobs to pay for their study fees. Why can't the strikers also work to pay for university like other people.

I really see no need to suspend academic programme anymore. NMMU made it clear they have no control over this situation and i agree. We can't fight a failing battle. Yes fees need to fall, but its a process and we can't expect it to happen immediately.

Lets fees fall while we building our future foward!

I do not agree to students being forced from classrooms, tests, studies and campus by criminals pretending to be protesting students. It is completely undemocratic and unlawfull.
