#12014-03-05 16:00With staff morale at Derriford already at an all time low, please re consider staffsides original proposals? the majority of our members hit are low paid women who work part time and many have two jobs already just to make ends meet. |

#32014-03-05 18:25The majority of staff who responded to the questionnaire distributed by the employer stated clearly that there should be no increase in parking costs. After a parking cost freeze of five years this was never going to be an option. Unions are very disappointed that the employer decided to refer this matter for a decision to the Trust Board without completing negotiation with the Staff side trade unions. Jointly Trade Unions represent over 70% of NHS Staff in Plymouth and those members feel that such a steep rise in not reasonable an cannot be justified in any way. |

#42014-03-05 19:23Spread the word, our NHS is the pride of the world and cameron (deliberate lower case) is trying to destroy it. The Nurses, Drs,and all NHS staff should be getting the bonuses the greedy bankers are getting. The NHS Has been my family and saved my life on many occasions. I would fight to my last breath to save it. And so should therest of the UK. |

#52014-03-05 19:50It is outrageous that sick people and their relatives are penalised in this way |

#62014-03-05 21:21yet again this is a 'tax' on the people who suffer, if it isn't bad enough to have to pay to park to visit a sick or dying friend or relative now it's going to cost twice as much - NHS - Government shame on you! |

#72014-03-06 08:37Its an easy target for the hospital to raise cash. Squeeze the workers to pay for the bankers crisis and govt ideology. Its totally wrong. Take the bankers bonus off them and use that. |

#82014-03-06 08:52This is an appalling increase and cannot be justified. The Trust have been short sighted in their plans re parking since the hospital was built and consequently expanded. We the workers are again the ones that are punished for our hard work and commitment as we work long hours many hours unpaid out of good will and this is how we are treated. |

#92014-03-06 08:54I do not understand how the Trust can justify this increase to our parking charges. I feel that because we are losing so many spaces the increase is making it easier for the trust so they do not have look for another parking area. How could they be so short sighted, we have had "quick fix" parking before ie the airport, now we are in the same situation again !!!! When will they ever learn. |

#102014-03-06 09:35I simply feel that for staff to be expected to pay at least a 100% increase (from £16 -£44) in their monthly charges to park at their workplace is unfair, unreasonable and unacceptable! I have no issue with towards parking but feel that this amount is more like having to pay to come to work - yet again the working man is being penalised! |

#112014-03-06 11:14The whole episode is based on making money to the detriment of staff both monetarily and morally. The most important assett is the staff and they are the least considered and despite the statements of "fairness" in the allocation of spaces there are definately issues regarding unfair treatment, possibly because someone has been outspoken!! I leave these issues to the relevant decision makers conscience |

#13 Re: yes2014-03-06 12:47I remember that, it was to discourage car usage in the area, not for trust to cash in!#12: -

#152014-03-06 13:20I think its disgusting. I pay less to insure x2 cars, fully comprehensive for the year. I feel sorry for the residential areas close by :( |

#162014-03-06 13:22What an absolute disgrace. I feel used, abused and violated by the change in rules. |

#172014-03-06 13:24we have no pay rises, have just had our on call payments cut by a substantial amount and now this. This amounts to a pay cut. Those who do not work get at least an inflation rise for doing absolutely nothing. infuriating!!!! |

#182014-03-06 13:25People earning under £20K should not have an increase at all. All others should be on a sliding scale. |
Guest |
#192014-03-06 13:26A rise is one thing, doubling it is too much, particularly for the lower paid staff. It isn't as though other forms of transport are very reliable in Plymouth! |

#202014-03-06 13:39Absolutely disgraceful considering the size of Derriford as an employer. There isn't even a reliable consistent public transport service to the hospital that offers competitve rates (see the bus pass has gone up again) for people to have another option. Will impact residential areas no doubt. It doesn't matter what you earn its should be fair to everyone. Cost of living increases do not reflect what it actually costs to live and WORK. |

#222014-03-06 13:49Band 1 and 2's are to receive a reduced charge however a part time band 3 earns less than a full time band 2 yet will be charged the full increase. Very unfair!! |

#232014-03-06 14:08When this hospital was built on the northern outskirts of the City provision should have been made for parking. I believe staff are being treated in a totally disgraceful way - and all for profit!!!!!! |
Guest |
#242014-03-06 14:10Not only is the price increasing a considerable amount but I don't think it's fair that bands 1 and 2 will be protected, I feel this should be staggered depending on the bands or we're all treated the same! |
