#2022014-04-30 18:37It is just so vital that this Strategic Open Space and Community Asset is left for future generations to enjoy as sporting and leisure facilities. |

#206 Re: Re:2014-05-01 11:40But we've got several artificial pitches in the locality serving ESC and other hockey clubs. What we haven't got is many natural grass surfaces like the ones at OSL. The local recreation officers are crying out for more pitches for soccer and adding the club surrounding - as opposed to a 'park pitch', offers so much more for young and old(er). With respect, to suggest one natural grass pitch can satisfy existing needs for soccer/rugby and lacrosse, is not realistic. The pitch would not last long! |

#2072014-05-01 12:022102 was a great year for British sport what happened to the Olympic Legacy, encouraging children to get fit, and participate in sport ? |

#208 Save Ewell Playing Fields2014-05-01 12:342012, was one of the greatest ever years in British sport, what happned to the Olympic Legacy, encouraging people of all ages to play sports of all kinds, Local Councils should not sell future generations birth right for short term game. Shame on them |

#2092014-05-02 12:01Not enough young people playing sport. Leave our playing field alone. Most get more youngsters to play sport |

#210 Abbeyfield - are they what they seem?2014-05-02 13:28So a 'not for profit organisation' posts profits of nearly £200000 in the past 2 years. Hmm. And how many Care Quality Commission findings have there been in the near past about Care, Treatment, Support, Safety, Protection from Harm, Staffing and Management within Abbeyfield homes? Oh yes - and they don't tell you this - seven!!! |

#211 Ewell Playing Fields2014-05-02 13:28NHS is setting aside more and more funds to tackle obesity related illnesses. Slogan of Epsom and Ewell borough council is, "Serving the community"! Question that comes to my mind is are they serving the community or the Corporates? I suppose, care-home owners (situated opposite to the playing fields)also have a duty of care to the local community. In my opinion these fields should be saved for the future generations, if not we fail in our duties. May sanity prevail!! |

#2122014-05-02 21:59As a current student that plays on these sports grounds I am shocked that someone wants to destroy the best maintained sports grounds leading to more obese children. Sports is our livelihood. WE CANNOT LET THIS DEVELOPMENT TAKE PLACE! |

#2132014-05-03 14:35We do not want sheltered housing/building in Ewell village or anywhere near Ewell. This is as stated a little village and we do not want it spoilt. Who is taking a back hander to get the housing built?? because this is what is happening all over the country now. |

#2142014-05-05 18:16Building residential property on the site, is only going to add to the traffic chaos in the area in the mornings and and in the evenings. It will also ultimately cause problems between residents and the neighbouring schools, as parents have difficulty parking during drop offs and pick ups. |

#2172014-05-08 11:23School playing fields should never be reduced especially when they are the only close ones available. They should also be maintained up to date for children to get the best available so they can learn and give of their best. |

#2182014-05-08 17:52Re proposed building dvt on the playing fields in Old Schools Land, Ewell Village. I strongly oppose any development of this open recreational space in the heart of the village. Numerous schools make use of this land and have no alternative convenient location. Regards, Graham Mealor 56 West street Ewell |

#2192014-05-13 18:30Sports field should be preserved. In this area in particular, Surrey Cty Ccl have recklessly extended Glyn School, taking away most of the open space. How sensible is that ? Pupils now have to walk about a mile for sports! |

#2202014-05-13 21:19Selling off any playing fields in a built up area such as Ewell/Epsom is a minor scandal and mustn't be allowed. Simply a terrible, retrograde plan. |

#2232014-06-08 16:39Following the Olympics the Coalition Government claims to want to encourage children and adults to take part in sporting activities thus increasing the health of the nation and fighting the obesity epidemic. Selling off playing fields is in direct contradiction to this policy whether you are Conservative, Lib Dem, Labour or RA! I'm totally convinced that our Local Authority does not need the money that much!! |

#2242014-06-10 10:50Played at the Ewell playing fields many times shocking if it's sold to developers. |

#2252014-06-10 11:23Please spare this well-loved spot from the rapacious developers. The pleasure that it gives people far outweighs the short-term, short-sighted economic benefits of yet more housing blight on playing fields. The council has a moral duty to preserve areas for the use of the people. Not to sell an area's soul for gold. There are better brownfiled sites to build on. Not here. |
