Should be moved to the Cardiff city Stadium now that the expected crowd will be more than the 12000 the Arms Park can hold.

#128 ERC announcement in Bath Chronicle re Amlin Cup Final

2014-05-01 22:25

ERC justify venue by quoting attendances at 3 of the last 4 finals. All well and good but they deliberately omitted the 2010 final. For info. att.was 49000!!! what a bunch of MUPPETS!!!!!!

Need to reward loyal rugby club fans with opportunity to see their team live in the final.

I support Leicester tigers but strongly believe you have a right as a loyal fan of either Bath or Northampton to watch your team in a cup final. This happens far to often in club rugby and should be addressed.

ERC this is an absolute farce, you still have the time to sort it out by moving the game to the Cardiff City stadium so instead of a PR disaster you can come out of this in a good light, or you will always be remembered as a total joke of an organisation.
Do the right thing.

Great idea. Public transport from Cardiff on a Friday night is pretty hopeless too!

Severe lack of flexibility from ERC when they knew who would be even I the semi finals

It is absolutely ridiculous to stage a major event at such a small stadium. It makes no sense, Thank goodness this will the last week end governed by European Rugby Cup.

Holding the Amlin Cup final at a ground that only holds 12,500 is a joke considering both clubs average attendance is over 12,000 each! Do the right thing by the supporters and move this to a ground with a sensible capacity and stop companies like StubHub profiteering.

2 of England's best supported clubs to play a European final in front of only 1000 of their supporters? Absolutely scandalous!!! Money really has taken the soul of the game.

It will be interesting to see if erc do listen to the grass routes loyal supporters who have waited years for their teams to get the chance to win some silver ware and under the existing set up only the minority get to see the game. Please see sense show that after all these years you have learnt something and move the game. thanks for giving the true club supporters a chance to voice their opinions

Move it to the Cardidff City Stadium?

The logical step would be to play the game in the Millennium Stadium. The only negative would be the excess damage to the pitch. However the pitch is normally average at best so with ground staff repairing the divots overnight it will be as good as it would be for the HC final. Fans still travel to Cardiff, same amount of policing required, WRU, Cardiff RFC will still get paid but more importantly a better opportunity for the fans of both clubs to see this one off event.

Ludicrously small venue for a showpiece final! Hopefully the crew managing future European competitions will use a few thought processes in future.

Ridiculous decision in the first place given the size of the ground - what was the ERC thinking?
Agree with players , rugby fans of the 2 respective clubs & all clear thinking people.
There was no requirement or real benefit to have both finals on one city & most fans of the teams can't attend - a truly ludicrous decision.

A disgraceful state of affairs........Good riddance to the ERC. I am a Saints fan and have managed to get tickets but a Friday night KO is moronic. Accommodation in a Travelodge £120 for a night plus taking a day off work. Why could the game not be on the Sunday ???. The whole thing is a shambles.

When we were in a semi final we had to go to MK Dons ground as Frankilins Gdns was deemed "too small" at 13500. Total hypocrits. Corrupt and inept ERC.

It's been mentioned a few times, but what a terrible decision this is. Utter incompetence from the ERC. I'm a Bath season ticket holder, I was at Wasps for the semi final but my odds of getting final tickets are slim. Let's hope this petition succeeds!

Very disappointed with the lack of tickets. Fans support their clubs loyaly and yet we are going to miss out. The players need their loyal supports!

It beggars belief that with two towns with huge rugby support that such a small stadium is allocated for this final and that most of the tickets have been bought up and so few real supporters, it seems will get to watch this game.
