#5762016-09-30 08:26My son is a 3rd year Mechatronics student and he is devastated that he cannot study. I have paid his studies in full.. I demand proper security at the University and no unlawful person must be allowed to enter the university. If you damage a government building or steel from the government you should be expelled and imprisoned. All non striking students should be allowed access to the university to study.. This is totally nonsensical!!! |

#5802016-09-30 10:36SA is a developing country we simply can not compare it to Cuba and some of us may be poor but we want to finish our year so that we can get employment and help our families |

#5812016-09-30 15:19We have to be realistic. Globally people take out loans and pay for their education. The crux is that we are educated with an aim to get a job once we leave varsity. If the government plunges that kind of money into free education which will certainly be abused what kind of money will be plunged into job creation? Why not aim at jobs for all? Too many varsity leavers are left high and dry. Stop corruption on government levels. Create jobs!! |

#5862016-10-01 05:42Education should be the foundation of a society through which future leaders are shaped and by preventing students access thereto is unacceptable in a democratic sociey |

#5872016-10-01 11:52I think that is time that the silent majority will make it's voice heard. Why can NMMU management not implement the same type of 'referendum' that Wits has successfully executed. we are being held ransom by a small group of students wrongfully claiming that they represent the student body.It is time to speak out! |

#5882016-10-01 12:29About time someone did something. There is another agenda here that has nothing to do with students! They are being manipulated |

#5892016-10-01 13:58Already paid tuition fee for this year, she worked really hard we live more than 300km away and pay a lot for accommodation which is in a confined space. It was her final year full of exciting symposiums which over her four years was the main goal to reach. All her classes are falling behind and it is unfair to the portion that pay and worked hard to achieve this. Due to the symposiums that were cancelled the oppurtunity to gain honnours has passed. Due to finanacial constraints she had to work after hours imcreasing the studyload to reach her dream that is now taken away from a hardworking and deserving student. |

#5972016-10-02 13:21I have raised my granddaughter, from the age of 18 months and she is now in her 3rd year studying Human Resources Management and looking forward to her graduation. I am forced to retire at the end of November and cannot afford to continue indefinitely supporting her while she studies. She will have to find employment and pay back her student loan. We have invested approximately R 250 000 in her studies at N M M U and it seems she will walk away without a degree as things stand at the moment. |
