#6032016-10-03 05:37I feel everyone has their rights, so those who want to attend classes and write exams should also be able to do that |

#6062016-10-03 09:28I pay for my daughter. its not fair on us as we do not get state subsidy in any way. I don't even belong to the missing middle. I have to pay another year for something that is not benefiting me in any way. I am above the threshold of 600000.00. |

#6072016-10-03 09:45I agree with the majority of the comments. Why does NMMU accomdate the handfull of students who obviuosly doesn't want to further their education. What about the democratic rights of the majority of students who wants to attend classes. We are paying parents, and we need our children to complete their studies...money doesn't grow on trees!!! How will NMMU compensate paying students.... |

#6092016-10-03 11:40My daughter is presently trying to do her Honours year in Psychology and we can not afford for this year to be extended. As our home town is Cape Town, it is already costing us a fortune for off campus accommodation and food; and for us to have to fork out more because of a bunch of unruly students, is totally unfair and uncalled for. Keep the bad element out and let the students that ARE there to study be able to do just that! Please open NMMU in fairness to all. Thank you, Sharon Jooste PS: We have also battled to pay for our children's tertiary studies, but did not go on a rampage and destroy other deserving students dreams. |

#6102016-10-03 14:13Because I do not believe in the protest which is run by folk hellbent on creating a university system that hands out free degrees for no work or effort. The pass one pass all brigade need to be put in their place. The statement that university's have only been for the elite is crass. University is for all who want to better themselves and are capable of absorbing the curriculum in a positive manner. I paid to go to University myself by working as a waiter at nights. My Mom and Dad could not afford to pay for me to go using their finances. Steve Cornish |

#6112016-10-03 15:41I am a parent who also had to approach the bank to get a study loan for my daughter. Why has this become a racial thing???? |

#612 Re: Re:2016-10-04 07:45Im sorry, but people that are a danger to society, destroy property and have universities shut down as they are a threat to everyones personal safety still deserve our upmost respect?? You will excuse me if I agree with the original post. Respect is earned, and the only thing these people have truly earned is a prison cell. Its rediculous that kids are being shown that in order to get what you want you must attack, destroy, assault and burn and NOTHING will be done to you but get everything you demand. And it is even more rediculous that it is being allowed. |

#6142016-10-04 09:45My daughter's doing her 4th year CA accounting, and we pay her fee's out of our pockets no bursary loans, and it's a sacrifice to keep her on nmmu!! |

#6152016-10-04 15:16We signed this petition because the closure of NMMU, will jeopardise our children's education. I do not see how a minority of students can hold the majority hostage. It is totally unacceptable and the leadership at NMMU are sitting on their hands. No address from the Chancellor, who I believe is away on holiday!!! |

#6212016-10-06 06:01My child is at the George campus and wishes to continue the academic year but the varsity is being intimidated by a few protestors. I took a loan to pay the fees and leased accommodation and simply cannot afford to waste the money or time. What about my child's rights? |

#6232016-10-06 16:35My daughter is a student at NMU and I have taken out a student loan to pay for her tuition. I am sympathetic to the students who are struggling financially but the government has created the mess so they must sort it out. Those students should target the government and not fellow students who have nothing to do with the situation. |

#6242016-10-07 13:07Free education will cripple our country... I need my daughter to get her degree. And I do not agree with any violent behaviour. Freedom of speech do not only concern a certain race. What about those who do not want to be part of this..... |
