British *governments*. Please make the distinction. These governments are not representative of their people. Look at what the U.S. government is doing around the world, and within its own borders, much to the horror of its people.

#154: - I admire you for honesty to clarify your English ancestry and I believe 99.9 % of Irish people like myself would be in agreement.
What happened in Ireland in 1845-48 wasnt caused by the English or British people but by the Government of England at the time.
There can be no justification in the removal of food and food sources from a people. Therein lies the crime. The perpetrators at the time have it on their shoulders.
The truth is crucial here for none of us gain anything by living a lie.

May I on behalf of the Admins of this site assure you that there is no reason to accuse the ordinary citizen of Britain for the sins of their politicians. Many were just as badly looked down upon. Daniel O'Connell made it clear where the fault lay as he pleaded for help in Westminster. He told them in no uncertain terms that, if was up to the ordinary people's generosity, the Irish problem would be solved . He went on to say that unfortunately it was the generosity of the Parliament that was needed. The common man will never be accused of the crime by this administration. Take care and thank you for signing.  Joe.

The true facts have been disguised from the world. This was deliberate mass murder on a level unseen in prior history. Before any forgiveness can occur, the British government must admit its guilt.
